Honda National Technician Contest Returns for Year Two

Following the successful inaugural edition of the Honda National Technician Contest, American Honda Motor Co. has confirmed that the event is back for year two. The competition, which is organized to promote Honda's Powersports technical training programs, features technicians from Honda dealerships across the country competing head-to-head. It is comprised of an online qualification test to determine eight finalists (four in the Two Wheel class, four in the Four Wheel category), who will take part in a weeklong in-person showdown in Alpharetta, Georgia.

The 75-question, multiple-choice online qualification test is already open to all active Honda Powersports technicians (except for past National Champions). As before, eight finalists will earn all-expenses-paid trips to the National Finals at Honda's Alpharetta Training Center, January 26-30, 2026. There, they will compete in both on-vehicle and off-vehicle competitions, during which they will be judged on their technical knowledge, technique, procedures, precision and speed. The prize packages for each of the two National Champions will be worth $8,000.

Nissan celebrates 700,000 Murano crossovers assembled in the U.S.

Nissan has reached a new production milestone: 700,000 Murano crossovers assembled in the United States. The total includes Murano production at both the Canton, Mississippi plant—where it was assembled from 2014 to 2020—and the Smyrna, Tennessee plant, which currently assembles the vehicle.

"This milestone is a direct reflection of the pride our team takes in every vehicle they build," said Brian Crockett, vice president of manufacturing for the Nissan Smyrna plant. "Behind each of the 700,000 Muranos are the people who bring their skill, dedication and attention to detail to work every day. Their commitment to building vehicles our customers can count on for safety, reliability and lasting quality is what makes achievements like this possible."

More than 6,700 Murano crossovers are assembled each month in Smyrna.

Ride along in the 2025 Corvette ZR1 around a Formula 1 track

It’s one thing to read the spec sheet on the 2025 Corvette ZR1. The numbers are jaw-dropping: 1,064 horsepower, 828 lb-ft of torque, a GM-estimated 0-60 time of just 2.3 seconds1, top speed of 233 mph on the track. But to truly understand how fast, powerful, and poised the ZR1 is, you have to experience it on a race track.

In Austin, Texas, I got that opportunity. And I’m forever changed.

On a blistering hundred-degree day, I strapped on a helmet, hopped in the passenger seat of a brand-new 2025 Corvette ZR1, and rode around Circuit of the Americas for a jaw-dropping thrill ride. At the wheel was Chris Barber – lead development engineer on the Corvette ZR1. Chris also happens to be the driver who set a new production-car lap record at Road Atlanta in a ZR1, beating the previous record by more than 2 seconds. That wasn’t a fluke – Chris is one of four General Motors engineers who earned ZR1 lap records at five race tracks across America. These engineers don’t just know how to create a world-beating vehicle, they can drive it to the limit.
