Toyota’s Collaborative Safety Research Center Completes Milestone 100th Project
Toyota’s Collaborative Safety Research Center (CSRC) announced today the completion of its 100th research project, a collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) AgeLab. The project characterized non-driving related tasks during highway driving, with and without driver assistance technologies. At a media event today in Michigan, the teams presented some of their discoveries and detailed the long-time research engagement between the two organizations. These also included CSRC and MIT AgeLab analysis of communication between vehicle drivers and pedestrians, which can help avoid potential collisions.
“This is a significant milestone for CSRC and our commitment to pursuing Toyota’s vision of a future safe mobility society for all with the ultimate goal of zero traffic fatalities,” said Danil Prokhorov, CSRC Director. “Through our long-term collaborations with many esteemed and experienced research institutions in North America, including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), we have made meaningful contributions to help inform future safety policies and the development of future products.”

Insights into the all-new third generation Nissan LEAF
Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. today commenced a three-part short video series featuring members of the planning, design and engineering team responsible for creating the all-new Nissan LEAF.
A true, third-generation electric vehicle, the all-new LEAF is built upon learnings accumulated since the debut of the pioneering first generation model in 2010. In the 15 years since, Nissan has sold close to 700,000 units of LEAF globally, with owners estimated to have traveled a cumulative total of approximately 28 billion kilometers.
Learnings from first- and second-generation models were a source of valuable insight for the planning and engineering team members as they reimagined the all-new third generation model.
The LEAF is regarded as one of Nissan's "heartbeat models," a globally renowned nameplate representing the brand's "do what others don't dare to do” ethos since its arrival as the world's first mass-market electric car. With its innovative technologies, the LEAF serves to reinforce Nissan's brand image.
Watch the first 1,064-hp Corvette ZR1s being built in Bowling Green
The all-new 2025 Corvette ZR1 is here.
Last week, the very first customer orders rolled off the line at Bowling Green Assembly in Kentucky, General Motors facility that’s been the birthplace of every Corvette sports car produced in the past 40-plus years 1. Now you can get a peek at how this American supercar is built.
Packing 1,064 horsepower from a twin-turbo V8, the ZR1 is the most powerful Corvette ever built, with a GM-estimated zero-to-60 time of 2.3 seconds1 and a racetrack top speed of 233 mph.
The 2025 Corvette ZR1 is based on the same mid-engine platform shared with today’s Corvette Stingray, E-Ray, and Z06. From nearly the very first step of assembly, the ZR1 gets its own impressive racetrack-ready equipment. It starts with the twin-turbo 5.5-liter flat-plane-crank V8 – each engine bearing the signature of the Performance Build Center specialist who assembled it by hand.
On ZR1 coupes, a unique engine cover evokes the iconic split rear window first seen on the 1963 Corvette Sting Ray, and buyers can choose the available high-downforce ZTK package, with a tall carbon-fiber rear wing that helped the new ZR1 set five U.S. production-car lap records this year.
